Auto-uploaded comment from GLODAPv2 assessment by Steven van Heuven (src:
GLODAPv2_ATL_for_Carsten.xls / 2015-01-08): : Maintain +5. Compares low against
two contemporaneous Knorr cruises.
Posted by svheuven@gmail.com on 2015-01-08 16:40:57 UTC for data product: CARINA, GLODAPv2, v2.2019, v2.2020, v2.2021, v2.2022, v2.2023
06MT19960613 - tco2
The average of all cross overs (manual) is -4.11
The average of all cross overs (automatic) is -5.77
Crossovers with core cruises only suggests offsets of -4.96(manual) and
-5.30(automatic)
Inversion results also suggest an upwards adjustment (9.01 and 7.98 for WLSQ and
WDLSQ, respectively).
Manual and automatic results and inversion both fall outside limits.
Based on this I suggest an adjustment of +5.13 for the 06MT19960613 tco2 values.

Auto-uploaded comment from GLODAPv2 assessment by Steven van Heuven (src:
GLODAPv2_ATL_for_Carsten.xls / 2015-01-08): : make +5. This clearly improves
local consistency, and follows the approximate mean of the high-quality xovers.
Is also inversion suggestion.

There are 20 xovers. The fitted offset is 4.4. The suggested adjustment is 0
Most of residuals fits inside +-5.
Good fit with core-cruises.

All xovers and output of inversions are refered on figure: "Report plot for
adjustments"
Real diff (Green dots) are the differences taken directly from xover routines.
The complete segment of error bar represents the xover standard deviation.
Yellow line stand for the offset calculated for this cruise.
Black stars stand for the offset calculated for the others cruises in the
xovers.
Blue squares stand for the Fitted differences that would be obtained from the
calculated offsets (Yellow line - black stars)
Red dots stand for the Residuals between the 'Real diff'(Green dots) and 'Fitted
diff' (Blue squares)
c suffix in the upper X axis labels stand for Core Cruises.

Autogenerated comment - phosphate
Auto-uploaded comment from GLODAPv2 assessment by Steven van Heuven (src:
GLODAPv2_ATL_for_Carsten.xls / 2015-01-08): : make -777. Extreme jumps between
stations (up to 50% of value), extreme low bias.
Posted by svheuven@gmail.com on 2015-01-08 16:40:57 UTC for data product: CARINA, GLODAPv2, v2.2019, v2.2020, v2.2021, v2.2022, v2.2023
06MT19960613 - phosphate
The average of all cross overs is 0.892, suggesting that the phosphate values
are too low.
The N/P ratio is 16.19, intercept 0.69.
The inversion suggest an upward adjustment of 1.17.
The cross over results vs. the core-cruises confirms that the phosphate is low.
Based on these evidence I suggest an adjustment of 1.17, in agreement with the
inverson results.

The average of all crossovers is 0.89 and the inversion suggests a correction of
1.17. Crossovers with the core cruises suggest that the phosphate data are too
low. The crossover analysis of the adjusted data (1.13) suggests that this
adjustment was too large; the new inversion suggest a correction of 0.96, and
the average of all crossovers is 1.02. Based on this evidence, an adjustment of
1.11 was applied to the phosphate data.

The average of all cross-overs is 1.023 but with two cruises with poor data that
bias the result. Without these two cruises the average would be 1.015 revealing
that this cruise is still bit higher in oxygen.
The inversion suggests an adjustment of 0.981 (WDLSQ) and 0.978 (WLSQ).
The offsets with core cruise seems to confirm the adjustment, but to note that
the mid depth data suggest no adjustment.
In this case I suggest an adjustment consistent with the inversion but to
verify.
During the meeting in Paris we agreed to an adjustment of 0.98

two contemporaneous Knorr cruises.

Auto-uploaded comment from GLODAPv2 assessment by Steven van Heuven (src:
GLODAPv2_ATL_for_Carsten.xls / 2015-01-08): : make -0.016. Mean offset (ignoring
the few large outliers) is about -0.015, inversion result is -0.017.

06MT19960613 - silicate
The average of all crossovers is 0.89 and the inversion suggests a correction of
1.17. Crossovers with the core cruises suggest that the phosphate data are too
low. The crossover analysis of the adjusted data (1.13) suggests that this
adjustment was too large; the new inversion suggest a correction of 0.96, and
the average of all crossovers is 1.02. Based on this evidence, an adjustment of
1.11 was applied to the phosphate data.

06MT19960613 - oxygen

06MT19960613 - silicate
The average of all cross overs is 0.875, suggesting that the silicate values are
too low.
The inversion suggest an upward adjustment of 1.16.
The cross over results vs. the core-cruises confirms that the silicate is low.
Based on these evidence I suggest an adjustment of 1.16, in agreement with the
inverson results.

06MT19960613 - nitrate
The average of all cross overs is 1.00, suggesting that the nitrate is OK.
The inversion suggest no adjustment.
The cross over results vs. the core-cruises confirms that the nitrate is good.
Based on these evidence I suggest no adjustment.
