Comments: "The only large offset is with cruise 35 which is too high by about 9.
After adjustment, all the offsets are low."
Therefore I suggests no adjustment

Auto-uploaded comment from GLODAPv2 assessment by Steven van Heuven (src:
GLODAPv2_ATL_for_Carsten.xls / 2015-01-08): : Make +8. Clearly offset 8 against
its contemporaries. Note that most Hudson TA data are of mediocre quality at
best. There appear to be occasional calibration breaks between the southern
shelfbreak leg and the main Labrador Sea leg, and data are generally exceedingly
noisy.

There are 8 xovers. The fitted offset is 6.2. The suggested adjustment is 6
Most of residuals fits very close to 0 and keep inside +-5.
Very good fit with 4 core cruises

adjustments"
Real diff (Green dots) are the differences taken directly from xover routines.
The complete segment of error bar represents the xover standard deviation.
Yellow line stand for the offset calculated for this cruise.
Black stars stand for the offset calculated for the others cruises in the
xovers.
Blue squares stand for the Fitted differences that would be obtained from the
calculated offsets (Yellow line - black stars)
Red dots stand for the Residuals between the 'Real diff'(Green dots) and 'Fitted
diff' (Blue squares)
c suffix in the upper X axis labels stand for Core Cruises.

Autogenerated comment - phosphate
Auto-uploaded comment from GLODAPv2 assessment by Steven van Heuven (src:
GLODAPv2_ATL_for_Carsten.xls / 2015-01-08): : make 1.02. Hard to quantify
exactly, because LabSea is terribly noisy (analytically even more than
hydrographically). However, cruise is a reasonable match with MT20030723, which
gets +3%, so at least the direction of adjustment is correct.

18HU19970509 - phosphate
The average of all cross overs is 1.001.
The inversion suggest an adjustment of 1.01, i.e. no adjustment.
The cross over results vs. the core-cruises confirms that no adjustment is
warranted, particularly
considering the large scatter in phosphate data.
Based on these evidence I suggest no adjustment for phosphate, in agreement with
the inversions.

Autogenerated comment - nitrate
Auto-uploaded comment from GLODAPv2 assessment by Steven van Heuven (src:
GLODAPv2_ATL_for_Carsten.xls / 2015-01-08): : make 0.98. Cruise is clearly
1.5-2.0% high against contemporaries (among which I count MT2003073)
Posted by svheuven@gmail.com on 2015-01-08 16:40:58 UTC for data product: CARINA, GLODAPv2, v2.2019, v2.2020, v2.2021, v2.2022, v2.2023
18HU19970509 - nitrate
The average of all cross overs is 1.018.
The N/P ratio is 21.41, intercept is -6.46. This indicates that there might be a
problem with either N or P.
The inversion suggest an adjustment of 0.99, i.e. no adjustment.
The cross over results vs. the core-cruises (The 2003 and 1997 Meteor cruises)
suggest that a
downward adjustment would be justified at the 2-3% level and the Metero 1997
could be a bit low.
Based on these evidence I suggest no adjustment for nitrate, in agreement with
the inversions.

Auto-uploaded comment from GLODAPv2 assessment by Steven van Heuven (src:
GLODAPv2_ATL_for_Carsten.xls / 2015-01-08): : maintain 1.00 (not re-inspected
for GLODAPv2)
Posted by svheuven@gmail.com on 2015-01-08 16:40:59 UTC for data product: CARINA, GLODAPv2, v2.2019, v2.2020, v2.2021, v2.2022, v2.2023
18HU19970509 - silicate
The average of all cross overs is 1.007, which however is biased high by a
couple of outliers.
The inversion suggest an adjustment of 1.03 and 1.04 for WLSQ and WDSLQ,
respectively.
The cross over results vs. the core-cruises suggest that no adjustment is
warranted, particularly
considering the apparently large variability in silicate.
Based on these evidence I suggest no adjustment for silicate, in agreement with
the crossovers of
the core-cruises (and the large uncertainties).

The average of all cross overs is 0.993.
The inversions suggest no adjustment.
The cross-overs with the other core cruises support no adjustment.
Based on this I suggest no adjustment to the oxygen values.

CTDsal with the values from BOTsal and BOToxy for every cruise, unless CTDsal
(or CTDoxy) is not present or bad.
Salinity action ID:3; no CTD salinity data. Setting CTD salinity offset to -999,
QC flag removed.
Oxygen action ID:3; no CTD oxygen data. Setting CTD oxygen offset to -999, QC
flag removed.

Auto-uploaded comment from GLODAPv2 assessment by Steven van Heuven (src:

Auto-uploaded comment from GLODAPv2 assessment by Steven van Heuven (src:
GLODAPv2_ATL_for_Carsten.xls / 2015-01-08): : Make +8. Clearly offset 8 against
its contemporaries. Note that most Hudson TA data are of mediocre quality at
best. There appear to be occasional calibration breaks between the southern
shelfbreak leg and the main Labrador Sea leg, and data are generally exceedingly
noisy.

18HU19970509 - tco2
Average offsets:
-1.25 (automatic)
-1.16 (manual)
Average offsets from xovers with Core Cruises:
0.12 (automatic)
0.20 (manual)
Inversion Results:
-1.38 WLSQ
-2.38 WDLSQ
Comments: "The only large offset is with cruise 35 which is too high by about 9.
After adjustment, all the offsets are low."
Therefore I suggests no adjustment
Suggested adjustment: 0
quality: good

18HU19970509 - silicate
The average of all cross overs is 1.007, which however is biased high by a
couple of outliers.
The inversion suggest an adjustment of 1.03 and 1.04 for WLSQ and WDSLQ,
respectively.
The cross over results vs. the core-cruises suggest that no adjustment is
warranted, particularly
considering the apparently large variability in silicate.
Based on these evidence I suggest no adjustment for silicate, in agreement with
the crossovers of
the core-cruises (and the large uncertainties).

18HU19970509 - phosphate
The average of all cross overs is 1.001.
The inversion suggest an adjustment of 1.01, i.e. no adjustment.
The cross over results vs. the core-cruises confirms that no adjustment is
warranted, particularly
considering the large scatter in phosphate data.
Based on these evidence I suggest no adjustment for phosphate, in agreement with
the inversions.

There are 8 xovers. The fitted offset is 6.2. The suggested adjustment is 6
Most of residuals fits very close to 0 and keep inside +-5.
Very good fit with 4 core cruises

All xovers and output of inversions are refered on figure: "Report plot for
adjustments"

18HU19970509 - oxygen
The average of all cross overs is 0.993.
The inversions suggest no adjustment.
The cross-overs with the other core cruises support no adjustment.
Based on this I suggest no adjustment to the oxygen values.
