UPDATE
A new inversion analysis has been done (13 Oct. 2008), now with data to which
all suggested adjustments from the first round were applied. This new analysis
suggests a significant adjustment of TCO2 by +5
Although there are very few cross-overs, the one with top core cruise
49NZ20031106 appears to justify a small adjustment.
I therefore suggest the minimum adjustment for TCO2 of +4

high precision, several xovers of reasonably or good quality. Cruise appears
slightly high against several others, in very high-quality xovers (notable
against 33RO2011. +6). Recommendation of -6 matches earlier assessment by Anton.
I believe this recommendation to now be unambiguous. see document
Atlantic_Alkalinity.pdf (or similarly names). Cruise offsets improve to
near-perfect with this (and the other) recommended adjustments.

At the Paris meeting TA was discussed.
The inversion analysis by Steven van Heuven (with 6 cross-overs) suggests an
adjustment of -10. The analysis by Anton Velo (see other comment) would suggest
-6, albeit based on very few data. We agreed that an adjustment is necessary,
and decided to take the mean of the two analyses above.
An adjustment of -8 is proposed for TA of cruise 35A319950111.

A new inversion analysis has been done (13 Oct. 2008), now with data to which
all suggested adjustments from the first round were applied. This new analysis
suggests a significant adjustment of TCO2 by +5
Although there are very few cross-overs, the one with top core cruise

I therefore suggest the minimum adjustment for TCO2 of +4

At the Paris meeting TA was discussed.
The inversion analysis by Steven van Heuven (with 6 cross-overs) suggests an
adjustment of -10. The analysis by Anton Velo (see other comment) would suggest
-6, albeit based on very few data. We agreed that an adjustment is necessary,
and decided to take the mean of the two analyses above.

do not warrant an adjustment.

The xover is with the SAVE cruise, that has and fitted offset of -3 and a
suggested one of 0,
so 35A319950111 cruise should get an adjustment of -6 instead of -9 in

sufficient data for a statistical analysis.
Cross-overs with core cruises confirm that an adjustment is not needed.
I suggest NO adjustment of oxygen for cruise 35A319950111.

This cruise has only 4 cross-overs with other cruises, of which 3 have
sufficient data for a statistical analysis.
Cross-overs with core cruises do not warrant an adjustment. This holds
particularly for the cross-over with cruise 49NZ20031106, while for the
cross-over with SAVE the standard deviation is very large (see manual cross-over
Xover_silicate_35A319950111_1005_SAVE_1043.png).
I suggest NO adjustment of silicate for cruise 35A319950111
