The inversion suggest a correction of 1.04 ppm, based on 12 crossovers with mean
offset 0.961. Do not adjust. This is consistent with CARINA.

Average of all cross-overs is: 2.4
Inversion analysis suggests an insignificant adjustment.
Cross-overs with core cruises (316N19831007, 49NZ20031106) does not warrant an
adjustment.

UPDATE
A new inversion analysis has been done (13 Oct. 2008), now with data to which
all suggested adjustments from the first round were applied. This new analysis
suggests a significant adjustment.
The average of all cross-overs is -6
The previous analysis suggested an adjustment by +3.9 (see plot by Anton Velo;
the offset is -3.9 which should result in an adjustment of +3.9).
Also the cross-over with core cruise 49NZ20031106 indicates that TCO2 of cruise
35A319950222 be too low.
I therefore suggest an adjustment of TCO2 by +4

There are 4 xovers. The fitted offset is -3.9. The suggested adjustment is 0
The uncertainties are large.
The 2 better xovers are with 49NZ200311006 (core) and 90AV20041109, and seems to
support a low offset of
around -2~-3 which is inside of boundaries.
The other 2 crosses with GLODAP cruises are poor.

Real diff (Green dots) are the differences taken directly from xover routines.

c suffix in the upper X axis labels stand for Core Cruises
expocode ids in upper X axis stand for NA ids or SO_ids+10000 for avoiding

least on the well xover'ed southern end) to be accurate. Comparison against

Mean offset with 4 cruises: 9.0
Inversion suggests -6.3
x-overs with 06MT19900123 and 06MT19940329 do indeed suggest that this is too
high.
I suggest an adjustment of -6 following the inversion.

Suggested correction is 1.0798 and mean offset is 0.942. This certainly appears
low. Initially recommend adjust by x 1.08. This is a bit larger than CARINA
adjustment of 1.055. Use CARINA adjustment.

Average of all cross-overs is: 0.937 (but this is influenced by very low value
of cross-over with cruise 316N19831113).
Inversion analysis suggests an adjustment of: 1.056
The cross-overs with core cruises (316N19831007, 49NZ20031106) confirm this
result.
Therefore, I suggest an adjustment of phosphate for cruise 35A319950222 of 1.055

1.03. This is consistent with but slighty smaller than GLODAP recommending

35A319950222 - silicate
Average of all cross-overs is: 1.015 (but this is heavily influenced by very
high value of cross-over with cruise 316N19831113).
Inversion analysis suggests no significant adjustment (0.989).
Opposite to the average, silicate of 35A319950222 is somewhat low compared to
almost all cruises, including core cruises. However, the differences are
generally small.
Based on all this, I suggest NO adjustment of silicate for cruise 35A319950222.

results.
There I suggest NO adjustment of oxygen for cruise 35A319950222.

UPDATE
A new inversion analysis has been done (13 Oct. 2008), now with data to which
all suggested adjustments from the first round were applied. This new analysis
suggests a significant adjustment.
The average of all cross-overs is -6
The previous analysis suggested an adjustment by +3.9 (see plot by Anton Velo;
the offset is -3.9 which should result in an adjustment of +3.9).

All xovers and output of inversions are refered on figure: "Report plot for
adjustments"
Real diff (Green dots) are the differences taken directly from xover routines.
The complete segment of error bar represents the xover standard deviation.
Yellow line stand for the offset calculated for this cruise.
Black stars stand for the offset calculated for the others cruises in the
xovers.
Blue squares stand for the Fitted differences that would be obtained from the
calculated offsets (Yellow line - black stars)
Red dots stand for the Residuals between the 'Real diff'(Green dots) and 'Fitted
diff' (Blue squares)
c suffix in the upper X axis labels stand for Core Cruises
expocode ids in upper X axis stand for NA ids or SO_ids+10000 for avoiding
coincidences

35A319950222 - oxygen
Average of all cross-overs is: 0.992
Inversion analysis suggests no significant adjustment (1.000).
Cross-overs with core cruises (49NZ20031106, SAVE) appear to support these
results.
There I suggest NO adjustment of oxygen for cruise 35A319950222.

35A319950222 - phosphate
Average of all cross-overs is: 0.937 (but this is influenced by very low value
of cross-over with cruise 316N19831113).
Inversion analysis suggests an adjustment of: 1.056
The cross-overs with core cruises (316N19831007, 49NZ20031106) confirm this
result.
Therefore, I suggest an adjustment of phosphate for cruise 35A319950222 of 1.055

35A319950222 - nitrate
Average of all cross-overs is: 0.978
Inversion analysis suggests an adjustment of: 1.027
The cross-overs with core cruises (316N19831007, 49NZ20031106) confirm this
result.
I therefore suggest an adjustment of nitrate for cruise 35A319950222 of 1.025
