The AO inversion suggest a correction of 1.83 ppm. This is based on 2 crossovers
with a mean offset of -0.644. Do not adjust. This is consistent with CARINA.

The inversion suggest a correction of 0.5 and the mean of the crossovers is -0.2
ppm. No adjustment was applied to GLODAP and CARINA agrees with that.
We suggest that no adjustment is applied.

Average of all cross-overs is: -0.5
Inversion analysis suggests an insignificant adjustment.
Cross-overs with core cruises (06AQ19960317, 320619960503) does not support an
adjustment.

We decided in Bremen to revert the previous adjustment. There is some evidence

well with the same line in 1996 and 2008 - except one station. See figures for
details.

The Atlantic Ocean inversion suggested correction was 1.0042 and mean offset is
0.997. No adjustment recommended. 0.98 in CARINA. IO analysis suggest that the
data are noisy. They do have significant scatter, but we will not flag 3/4 as
this will create a large E-W gap on covereage. Adjust by 0.98 and add footnote
in cruise summary table.

35MF19930123 - phosphate
The inversion suggest a correction of 0.98 and the mean of the crossovers is
1.005. No adjustment is applied to GLODAP but CARINA suggest a correction of
0.98. The data show high scatter, see for instance crossover with 320619960503.
We suggest an adjustment of 0.98 but that the data are flagged as bad and not
used.

35MF19930123 - phosphate
Average of all cross-overs is: 1.003
Inversion analysis suggests an adjustment of: 0.970
Cross-overs with reliable cruises (06AQ19960317, 320619960503) appear to support
a small adjustment.
I suggest an adjustment of phosphate for cruise 35MF19930123 of 0.98

Recent large scale two-step inversion suggest no adjustment required. However,
data is of such poor quality that scrapping these NO3 data may improve the
overall product... Abyssal data fall in a wide range between 31 and 33 umolkg,
whereas they should nicely be 32.3 or something.

35MF19930123 - nitrate
From AO inversion the suggested correction is 1.0073 and mean offset is 1.01,
and data appears fine. But this is based on just 2 crossovers. One towards
35MFCIVA_1, and this is nearly OK, whereas the one vs. 06AQANTXIII_4 indicates
it is 1.03 too high. CARINA suggested a 0.98 adjustment and we adopt this as it
is based on more data.

The inversion suggest a correction of 0.98 and the mean of the crossovers is
1.016. No adjustment is applied to GLODAP but CARINA suggest that a correction
of 0.98.
We suggest to follow the recommendation from CARINA and apply an adjustment of
0.98.

Average of all cross-overs is: 1.017
Inversion analysis suggests an adjustment of: 0.976
Comparison with other reliable cruises (320619960503, 06AQ19960317, INDIGO) does
support a small adjustment. Additional evidence from manually performed
cross-over analyses.
I suggest an adjustment of nitrate for cruise 35MF19930123 of 0.98

35MF19930123 - phosphate
We decided in Bremen to revert the previous adjustment. There is some evidence
that this cruise may be offset, but nothing is conclusive. It compares quite
well with the same line in 1996 and 2008 - except one station. See figures for
details.

35MF19930123 - phosphate
The Atlantic Ocean inversion suggested correction was 1.0042 and mean offset is
0.997. No adjustment recommended. 0.98 in CARINA. IO analysis suggest that the
data are noisy. They do have significant scatter, but we will not flag 3/4 as
this will create a large E-W gap on covereage. Adjust by 0.98 and add footnote
in cruise summary table.

35MF19930123 - phosphate
The inversion suggest a correction of 0.98 and the mean of the crossovers is
1.005. No adjustment is applied to GLODAP but CARINA suggest a correction of
0.98. The data show high scatter, see for instance crossover with 320619960503.
We suggest an adjustment of 0.98 but that the data are flagged as bad and not
used.

35MF19930123 - phosphate
Average of all cross-overs is: 1.003
Inversion analysis suggests an adjustment of: 0.970
Cross-overs with reliable cruises (06AQ19960317, 320619960503) appear to support
a small adjustment.
I suggest an adjustment of phosphate for cruise 35MF19930123 of 0.98

35MF19930123 - silicate
Average of all cross-overs is: 1.008
Inversion analysis suggests an insignificant adjustment (0.986).
There are only 3 cross-overs with sufficient data for a statistical analysis.
Cross-overs with cruises 06AQ19960317 and 320619960503 seem to show that the
offset of silicate of cruise 35MF19930123 be more than suggested by the
inversion. Additional evidence by cruise 74DI19930206 (which formally does not
have enough data for a cross-over).
Based on this, I suggest a small adjustment of silicate for cruise 35MF19930123
amounting to 0.98

35MF19930123 - phosphate
The Atlantic Ocean inversion suggested correction was 1.0042 and mean offset is
0.997. No adjustment recommended. 0.98 in CARINA. IO analysis suggest that the
data are noisy. They do have significant scatter, but we will not flag 3/4 as
this will create a large E-W gap on covereage. Adjust by 0.98 and add footnote
in cruise summary table.

The results posted by me are based on an analysis of the Indian Ocean cruises in
GLODAP. This might change as the Atlantic Ocean inversion is considered as well.

35MF19930123 - salinity
Average of all cross-overs is: -0.5
Inversion analysis suggests an insignificant adjustment.
Cross-overs with core cruises (06AQ19960317, 320619960503) does not support an
adjustment.

35MF19930123 - oxygen
Average of all cross-overs is: 0.999
Inversion analysis suggests an insignificant adjustment (1.003)
There are only 3 cross-overs with sufficient data for a statistical analysis.
There is no evidence to deviate from the suggestion by the inversion.
I suggest NO adjustment of oxygen for cruise 35MF19930123.

Average of all cross-overs is: 1.017
Inversion analysis suggests an adjustment of: 0.976
Comparison with other reliable cruises (320619960503, 06AQ19960317, INDIGO) does
support a small adjustment. Additional evidence from manually performed
cross-over analyses.
I suggest an adjustment of nitrate for cruise 35MF19930123 of 0.98
