58JH19940723 - salinity
This cruise is from the Greenland-Scotland ridge and as for the other cruises
and parameters from this region I label it -888 as rigerous secondary QC is not
possible due to the large variability.

58JH19940723 - tco2
After discussing this, Denis and I decided that -888 is the best label as this
cruise took place over the Greenland - Scotland ridge, a very variable region
were meaningful secondary QC is very difficult.

Average offsets from xovers with Core Cruises:

Comments: Xovers with core cruises range from 4 to 7 umol/kg. The suggested
adjusment is influenced by problematic cruises such as:
80: its data close to iceland seem off. That's where it crosses with this
cruise 47
50: which has a large scatter and will probably not be included in the final
results
"Therefore, the adjustment suggested comes from the offsets with the core

58JH19940723 - phosphate
The average of all cross overs is 1.073 (NA cruises).
This cruise got a "bad" mark for nutrients by Jon Olafsson, based on the N/P
ratio.
N/P ratio is 16.92, intercept -3.49.
The NA inversions suggest an adjustment of 0.94 for both WLSQ and WDLSQ.
The AMS inversion suggest an adjustment of 0.94.
The cross-overs with core-cruises do support that the JH19940723 phosphate
values are high.
Based on these evidence I suggest an adjustment of 0.94, in agreement with all
the inversions.

58JH19940723 - nitrate
The average of all cross overs is 0.995 (NA cruises).
This cruise got a "bad" mark for nutrients by Jon Olafsson, based on the N/P
ratio.
The NA inversions suggest an adjustment of 1.03 and 1.00 for WLSQ and WDLSQ,
respectively.
The AMS inversion suggest an adjustment of 0.96.
The cross-overs with core-cruises do support that the JH19940723 nitrate values
are low,
particularly cross overs with 317519930704 and 316N19961102, but considering the
high variability in the
are, it is difficult to support any adjustments.
Based on these evidence I suggest no adjustment.

58JH19940723 - silicate
Cruise carried out across the Greenland-Scotland ridge, a highly variable region
and outside the core area of the crossover analyses. “-888” is the appropriate
flag for these data as secondary QC is difficult

The average of all cross overs is 1.013 (NA cruises).
This cruise got a "bad" mark for nutrients by Jon Olafsson, based on the N/P
ratio.
The NA inversions suggest an adjustment of 0.98 and 0.99 for WLSQ and WDLSQ,
respectively.
The AMS inversion suggest an adjustment of 0.99.
The cross-overs with core-cruises support no adjustment.
Based on these evidence I suggest no adjustment.

Autogenerated CTD salinity and CTD oxygen update
Automated update! This overwrites adjustment values (and flags) of CTDoxy and
CTDsal with the values from BOTsal and BOToxy for every cruise, unless CTDsal
(or CTDoxy) is not present or bad.
Salinity action ID:5; CTD salinity data good, setting CTD salinity offset and QC
flag to bottle values.
Oxygen action ID:3; no CTD oxygen data. Setting CTD oxygen offset to -999, QC
flag removed.

As for the other parameters and ridge cruises this is given a -888, overriding
Toste's recommendation, see also Nordic Seas oxygen report at

58JH19940723 - oxygen
This cruise is around the overflows from the Nordic Seas, so large variability
can be expected.
The average cross over value for this cruise is 0.998.
The inversion suggest a small adjustment of 1.01.
Thed cross over results with the core cruises are inconclusive, but considering
the large variability in the area
there is not enough evidence there to motivate an adjustment.
Based on these avidence I suggest no adjustment.

Cruise carried out across the Greenland-Scotland ridge, a highly variable region
and outside the core area of the crossover analyses. “-888” is the appropriate
flag for these data as secondary QC is difficult

58JH19940723 - oxygen
As for the other parameters and ridge cruises this is given a -888, overriding
Toste's recommendation, see also Nordic Seas oxygen report at

58JH19940723 - salinity
This cruise is from the Greenland-Scotland ridge and as for the other cruises
and parameters from this region I label it -888 as rigerous secondary QC is not
possible due to the large variability.

58JH19940723 - tco2
After discussing this, Denis and I decided that -888 is the best label as this
cruise took place over the Greenland - Scotland ridge, a very variable region
were meaningful secondary QC is very difficult.

Average offsets:
4.47 (automatic)
4.53 (manual)
Average offsets from xovers with Core Cruises:
5.39 (automatic)
5.39 (manual)
Inversion Results:
-6.39 WLSQ
-7.34 WDLSQ
Comments: Xovers with core cruises range from 4 to 7 umol/kg. The suggested
adjusment is influenced by problematic cruises such as:
80: its data close to iceland seem off. That's where it crosses with this
cruise 47
50: which has a large scatter and will probably not be included in the final
results
"Therefore, the adjustment suggested comes from the offsets with the core
cruises"
Suggested adjustment: -5.4
quality: good

The average of all cross overs is 1.013 (NA cruises).
This cruise got a "bad" mark for nutrients by Jon Olafsson, based on the N/P
ratio.
The NA inversions suggest an adjustment of 0.98 and 0.99 for WLSQ and WDLSQ,
respectively.
The AMS inversion suggest an adjustment of 0.99.
The cross-overs with core-cruises support no adjustment.
Based on these evidence I suggest no adjustment.
