4/26/05 Initialized README file
Data from Kozyr via CARINA site 5/11/04
New version from Skjelvan 7/12/05
Ship and cruise designation: Johan Jhort; 58JH9505
Cruise dates: 4/27 - 5/23/1995
EXPOCODE: 58JH19950427
109 stations with 12 place Rosette
Chief Scientist: F. Rey (Marine Res. Inst., Bergen)
Hydro: Who - F. Rey; Status - unknown; S Plus - up to date
Notes: CTD salinity values
CTD salt comparable to TTO bottle values
Nuts/O2: Who - F. Rey; Status - ???; S Plus - up to date
Notes: Nuts via onboard AA
O2 via Winkler; these values differ from Skjelvan master file
by 0.1-0.4umol/kg - probably due to conversion alg.
Deep silicate comparable to TTO
Deep phosphate higher than TTO by ~0.1umol/kg
Deep nitrate lower than TTO by ~1umol/kg
Deep AOU higher than TTO by 10umol/kg or more
TCO2: Who - T.Johannessen/I.Skjelvan; Status - near final; S Plus - up to date
Notes: CRM???
5 values flagged 3
Too few data to do much qc
Corrected with CTD salt values
CRM used; precision better than 3umol/kg
Data have much less scatter then 93 or 94 Hjort. Deep
values slightly higher, ~10umol/kg, than 81 TTO
TA: Who - T.Johannessen/I.Skjelvan; Status - near final; S Plus - up to date
Notes: Calibrated with TRIS buffer; CRM were run, but had not yet
been certified; Calc. via Gran linearization
Data too noisy to QC
Data spread about the TTO results, but the spread is 75umol/kg
(for the main grouping).
Skjelvan noted analytical problems on cruise and all
alk are flagged 3

Autogenerated CTD salinity and CTD oxygen update
Automated update! This overwrites adjustment values (and flags) of CTDoxy and
CTDsal with the values from BOTsal and BOToxy for every cruise, unless CTDsal
(or CTDoxy) is not present or bad.
Salinity action ID:2; CTD salinity data good, setting CTD salinity offset and QC
flag to bottle values.
Oxygen action ID:3; no CTD oxygen data. Setting CTD oxygen offset to -999, QC
flag removed.

My inversion analyses also indicated that these data were higher than normal,
around 9 umol/kg. However I also see that the data have a lot of scatter,
amongst other standard deviation of deep values are twice those of 316N20020530
which covered a much larger region. See Nordic Seas tco2 summary document for
details, http://carboocean.ifm-geomar.de/postings/list
Below I have uploaded the figure showing spread of the data.
Given the offset and scatter I recomend that these data are removed from the
synthesis.
