The evidence from core cruises is inconclusive. While cross-overs with

UPDATE
A new inversion analysis has been done (13 Oct. 2008), now with data to which
all suggested adjustments from the first round were applied. This new analysis
suggests a significant adjustment of 1.047.
This suggests that the correction that has been applied (0.96) caused the data
to be much too low.
As the average of all cross-overs is 1.005, which would suggest no offset from
other cruises, I suggest to modify the adjustment of silicate to 1.00 (i.e. NO
adjustment).

Average of all cross-overs is: 0.978
Inversion analysis suggests an adjustment of 1.026
Cross-overs with core cruises (316N19831007, 49NZ20031106, SAVE) strongly agree
with the inversion results.
I therefore suggest an adjustment of oxygen for cruise 74JC19950320 of 1.025

74JC19950320 - silicate
Average of all cross-overs is: 1.005
Inversion analysis suggests an adjustment of 0.949
The evidence from core cruises is inconclusive. While cross-overs with
29HE20010305 and 323019940104 show relatively small offsets, those with
316N19831007, 49NZ20031106 and SAVE are higher.
I suggest an adjustment of silicate for cruise 74JC19950320 of 0.96

UPDATE
A new inversion analysis has been done (13 Oct. 2008), now with data to which
all suggested adjustments from the first round were applied. This new analysis
suggests a significant adjustment of 1.047.
This suggests that the correction that has been applied (0.96) caused the data
to be much too low.
As the average of all cross-overs is 1.005, which would suggest no offset from
other cruises, I suggest to modify the adjustment of silicate to 1.00 (i.e. NO
adjustment).

74JC19950320 - phosphate
Average of all cross-overs is: 0.970
Inversion analysis suggests an insignificant adjustment (1.012).
Cross-overs with core cruises (316N19831007, 49NZ20031106, SAVE) shows evidence
that phosphate of cruise 74JC19950320 may be somewhat low indeed.
Based on this I suggest a modest adjustment of phosphate for cruise 74JC19950320
amounting to 1.02

Inversion analysis suggests an insignificant adjustment (1.009).
Cross-overs with core cruises (49NZ20031106, 323019940104, SAVE) do not support
an adjustment.
I suggest NO adjustment of nitrate for cruise 74JC19950320.
