GLODAPv2_ATL_for_Carsten.xls / 2015-01-08): : make -999. No DIC samples were
measured on this cruise (the values CARINA refers to were calculated from AT and
pH). DIC samples were collected and shipped to SIO, but storage or analysis
there failed, and DIC_SIO shows a large spread and offset compared to
DIC_calc_on_board. This looks like a poisoning problem, with certain stations
affected more than others (judging from Goodhope&Dickson.doc).

90AV20041104 - phosphate
Average of all cruises is: 0.997
Inversion analysis suggests no significant adjustment: 0.989
There is relatively large variation around this cross-over point, e.g.

The core cruises suggest no significant deviations.
Based on this I suggest NO adjustment of phosphate of 90AV20041104

Average of all cross overs is: 0.986

This cruise does seem to be a bit low with respect to core cruises.
Also, based on residuals of the N:P plot, which are quite low, a small
adjustment is suggested.
Based on this I suggest an adjustment of nitrate of 1.02.

Average of all cross-overs is: 1.041
Inversion analysis suggests an adjustment of 3%: 0.970

7.5% lower than 35MF2008. On the NE side of that point, cruises coincide. Other
xovers confirm that NO3 data at southern end of section is clearly 5-10% too
low, while in the NE corner, data are somewhat better. Scrap.

Auto-uploaded comment from GLODAPv2 assessment by Steven van Heuven (src:
GLODAPv2_ATL_for_Carsten.xls / 2015-01-08): : make -999. No DIC samples were
measured on this cruise (the values CARINA refers to were calculated from AT and
pH). DIC samples were collected and shipped to SIO, but storage or analysis
there failed, and DIC_SIO shows a large spread and offset compared to
DIC_calc_on_board. This looks like a poisoning problem, with certain stations
affected more than others (judging from Goodhope&Dickson.doc).

Real diff (Green dots) are the differences taken directly from xover routines.
The complete segment of error bar represents the xover standard deviation.
Yellow line stand for the offset calculated for this cruise.
Black stars stand for the offset calculated for the others cruises in the
xovers.
Blue squares stand for the Fitted differences that would be obtained from the
calculated offsets (Yellow line - black stars)
Red dots stand for the Residuals between the 'Real diff'(Green dots) and 'Fitted
diff' (Blue squares)
c suffix in the upper X axis labels stand for Core Cruises.
d preffix in the upper X axis labels stand for pH determined with Alk and TCO2
using the CO2SYS routines and the Mehr'73 ctes fitted by Dick&Mill'87.
expocode ids in upper X axis stand for NA ids or SO_ids+10000 for avoiding

There are 4 xovers. The fitted offset is -3.0, but with an uncertainty of 2.0.
The suggested adjustment is 0
Not a good inversion as uncertainties are high.

90AV20041104 - oxygen
Average of all cross-overs is: 0.983
Inversion analysis suggests no significant adjustment: 1.005
There are only few cross-overs here.
Core cruises do not support an adjustment. Also some cruises which have too few
data to be included in the analysis do show qualitatively good cross-over
results with 90AV20041104.
Based on all this I suggest NO adjustment of oxygen of cruise 90AV20041104.

90AV20041104 - silicate
Average of all cross-overs is: 1.041
Inversion analysis suggests an adjustment of 3%: 0.970
However, the average cross-over has been very strongly influenced by one
outlier, 316N19831113 with an offset of 1.22
The other cruises, including core cruises, do not have a significant offset.
Based on this I suggest NO adjustment of silicate of cruise 90AV20041104.

90AV20041104 - phosphate
Average of all cruises is: 0.997
Inversion analysis suggests no significant adjustment: 0.989
There is relatively large variation around this cross-over point, e.g.
316N19831113 (which is high) and 35A319950222 (which is low).
The core cruises suggest no significant deviations.
Based on this I suggest NO adjustment of phosphate of 90AV20041104

90AV20041104 - nitrate
Average of all cross overs is: 0.986
Inversion analysis suggests no adjustment.
This cruise does seem to be a bit low with respect to core cruises.
Also, based on residuals of the N:P plot, which are quite low, a small
adjustment is suggested.
Based on this I suggest an adjustment of nitrate of 1.02.
